I DO NOT Sew!!

Really, I don't sew! Never learned, never cared! Until....duh, duh, duh, I wanted something I could not find anywhere! I searched the world over and nothing! OK, I searched the internet over and nothing so I took matters into my own untrained hands!! I went to Walmart to find a pattern for the Christmas cape that I desired for the Diva for the holiday season and nothing!! But I did find a pattern for a Little Red Riding Hood costume and I was off! Fabric, ribbon and pattern (but NO fake fur, drat)I went home to start what would eventually leaving asking for help from the Moody Teen who has at least used a pattern before, unlike his mother!

So last night he helped me cut the pattern and pin it in preparation for sewing! I do not own a sewing machine so I would be doing it all by hand!! Yikes! Distraught that I did not have any fake white fur, I turned to 3 yards of furry material that I had purchase for photographing babies and I was set! The pattern did not call for fur so I had to improvise but it worked out great! It really did not take me too long to complete the sewing once I got started! My fingers are not in the best of shape due to the many needle pricks I received while finishing this project! I am so proud of myself for completing this darling cape! Now all she needs is a dress!! We already have the tights and shoes or boots to go with the ensemble! She will be so stylin' this Christmas season! There is also fur along the bottom of the cape but I loved the closeup shots the best!!

Of course, I was prompted to do a photo shoot with her almost immediately following the completion of my masterpiece and here are the results!! Enjoy!

You did a great job, Jo! Next time, will you please call me??? I sew--big time. I've got two machines and I actually love an excuse to get them out.

That's fabulous for someone who can't sew. You are so talented it just flows to all areas. :) I love it.

When in the world did she get so big? LOL... My goodness I don't need to stay away so long. Her hair has grown and she is such a beautiful young lady. :)

I can't wait to see her in the complete outfit.

You did a great job! Love it!

I sew also, and have a sewing machine. I can't imagine sewing it entirely by hand. Your fingers must be raw.
