I have always been an animal lover but never really had a pet as a child because my mom was allergic to pet dander. After I got married I wanted a pet right away but we knew that we needed to wait a while! We finally got a beagle when Zach was 8 but when we went into the military we had to give her to another family because we were moving into an apartment and could not have her. We were sad.
In 2003 when Zach was 10, we got Boscoe the beagle from a farm. He was only 8 weeks old and his ears were bigger than he was! He quickly became my buddy! It is hard to believe that we have had him for almost 7 years!
He was born to hunt (part beagle, part blue tick hound) but he doesn't get to hunt in town. In fact our dogs live the life of Riley! They live in the house, sleep on the couch and run in a fenced in yard. They get fed twice a day with many "people" snacks in between! They are loved and adored and they love and adore in return.
Today's photos are of Bosoce on his "perch" on the back of the couch (he thinks he is a cat)! I just love his big brown eyes, they tell the story completely! I feel like I can see right into his heart and soul. He truly is a loving devoted companion to every member of the family, but mostly to me!

Aawwwww! He melts my heart !!
I think your puppy is smiling at me! I love it!
I had a Bosco when I was a kid.
He wasn't with us long. Replaced him with a schnauzer that was a great dog.
What a cute doggy!!!!
Aren't pets grand?! I cannot imagine living without one or two or ten. I'm always threatening to be a cat lady when I get old. :) Your little guy's eyes are so sweet--no wonder you love him! Give Boscoe a big smoochy for me!
There's nothing quite like beagle eyes. We have a 100% beagle that just melts the heart when she gives you "those" eyes. She's still a pup, 11 months, growing into her ears and learning how to wiggle her way around the rules. :)
And, what beautiful eyes they have!! Awe, too cute. I love my dogs, and can't imagine my life without them.
I love the name Boscoe - it great.
We have a beagle too. Her name is sally she is getting old as she is 11.
I agree, they have adorable eyes.
