Mind Blowing History!

I am still trying to wrap my brain around the history that was made yesterday! Oh sure I knew Obama won the election and all but it had been pushed to the recesses of my brain until yesterday when it became official!

I have told you before that I do not let my life revolve around politics but I have to ask: Could we not have put the money spent on the inauguration to better use? Must it be so extravagant? Must there be 10 inaugural balls?

I don't mean to sound like a downer but we are in a recession, or so they tell us every day on the news! Oh well, enough about politics, let's just see what Obama can do!

Let me give you something else to think about! During my time spent travelling the blogosphere I have come across lots of people who are in need of prayer and so let me ask you to pray for Harper who is only 4 days old. I have a soft spot in my heart for the little babies who are sick. You can check out her story at Kelly's Korner . Her parents are faithful and know that they are in this for a reason. Kelly even asked that we pray for the 40 other babies in the NICU and their families. There I have issued the challenge now all you have to do is pray!

The shots for today are some recent silly shots of Sadie! The top one is her laughing really hard at something the dog did and the bottom one is her in her "thinking chair" (Blue's Clues).

I Got My Snow!!!

Early morning walk.

Pearls of Wisdom.

Click on this photo and then look closely at the drops.
Water in motion.

Frozen in mid air.

I know that Diana, Lin and Harriet all think that I am off my rocker when I whine about not getting enough snow but it really is true! Even though we live in the same state, I have gotten much less snow than they have. I hear tell it has something to do with the I 74 corridor or something like that.

While I got the snow, I still did not get to go get the shots because it was too chilly to take the baby out and my teen had other plans for his day off that did not include watching his little sis. I did get to step out the front door and get some cool shots but I also wanted to try some of Zach's water shots and got totally different results than he did which is great!

Some prayer requests that I hope you all will keep in your prayers:

1. Larry - My husband's Dad was just diagnosed with lung cancer and an aggressive bone cancer. We will find out prognosis and treatment options on Thursday.

2. Dale - My Brother-in-law is recovering from having a stint put in after they discovered 95% blockage in an artery.

3. Our nations as we transition our power to Obama.

I had lots of fun with the water shots. I used my Nikon D60 and no shot has been altered except to add my by line.

Sadie does it again!

Sunday evening we were watching Date Line on NBC about the upcoming inauguration of Barrack Obama. We are not particularly vocal about politics, we vote and we stay on top of things we just don't talk about it every day. While watching something happened with the station and it went blank for a few minutes. When it came back on, there was a photo of our future President and Sadie saw it and said, "That's Barrack Obama". Spencer and I looked at each other in amazement and started laugh uncontrollably.

How many 23 month olds do you know who can name the President when they see a picture of him? Most kids her age are only interested in playing with toys and watching cartoons but not my kid, she is up on her current events! Should we start saving for Harvard? LOL! I am getting more stupid by the day! Oh well, I just thought it was funny that she knows who he is.
